Facebook ads or Google ads: which is right for your business?

Google catches demand that already exists; Facebook and Instagram create new demand. See when each makes sense, and what matters more than the platform.

When you want more clients online, one of the first questions is: “Should I advertise on Facebook or on Google?”. Both can work very well. The difference is how they reach people, and that changes everything.

The core difference: existing demand or new demand

On Google, people are actively looking for something: “emergency plumber”, “dental clinic”, “PVC windows”. Your ad appears exactly when someone already has the need and is searching for it. You catch demand that already exists.

On Facebook and Instagram, people aren’t looking for anything. They scroll, check on friends, watch stories and videos. Your ad reaches them based on their profile and interests. You create demand: you show them something they didn’t know they needed yet, or remind them of you at the right moment.

When Google makes sense

  • Services people search for at the moment of need: emergencies, repairs, services “near me”.
  • Products people actively compare before they buy.
  • Markets where people already know what to search for and use clear words.

When Facebook and Instagram make sense

  • Products and services that look good: aesthetics, real estate, events, restaurants, interiors.
  • Launches and new offers that people have no way of knowing about yet.
  • A well-defined audience: age, area, interests, behaviour.
  • Reminders for people who visited your site and left without writing to you.

What matters more than the platform

The ad only brings the person in. What happens next decides whether they become a client:

  • The page they land on. Does it load fast? Does it look good on a phone? Do they understand in a few seconds what you offer?
  • How easy it is to leave their details. A short, clear form brings more requests than a long, confusing one.
  • How fast they get a reply. Someone who asked for a quote in the evening and hears back the next day at noon has probably written to others already.

That’s why, for us, ads aren’t a separate thing. We tie them to your website and your automations: the ad brings the right people, the website turns them into requests, and the automation replies and books instantly. No gaps along the way.

Can you use both?

Yes, and many businesses do. Google catches people who are already searching, while Facebook and Instagram create new demand and bring back people who were close to deciding. What matters is that both lead to a website that turns visitors into requests, not to a page that loses them.

What we do

At Sivelto we run Facebook and Instagram ads: we build the campaigns from scratch, define the audience, create the messages and creatives, and move the budget to where it brings results. You get reports in plain words, where you see clearly what you got for the money you invested.

In short

If people already search for your service, Google catches that existing demand. If you want to reach new people, launch something or bring back the ones who came close, Facebook and Instagram are the natural choice. Either way, what happens after the click matters at least as much. If you’re not sure what fits you, write to us and we’ll talk it through based on your business.
